ABTC - Nurse Committee

After obtaining my certification for transplant nursing and coordination, my opportunities in my nursing profession flourished. I became an expert in the transplant field. The trust level with my patients and their families has increased. The institutions that I work/worked at value my credentialing, They have been supportive of the additional education requirements and encourage myself, as well as, others to obtain their certification(s). It takes commitment, hard work, and dedication to take care of the special needs of the transplant population.

Responsible for creating the first ever transplant nurse certification examination

In the future the committee will be responsible for:

Review the draft exam annually
Review items in the test pool for inclusion in the exam and approve each item to be used for the transplant nurse exam. The item review is completed at the annual examination committee meetings.
ABTC reimburses airfare, hotel lodging and meals necessary for conducting the meeting.
Involvement in key verification and preliminary scoring decisions for the exam.
