The purpose of the examinations is to demonstrate an achieved level of competence in the field of transplantation. Applied Measurement Professional, Inc (AMP) is the professional testing agency contracted by ABTC to assist in the development, administration, scoring and analysis of the ABTC examination.
The transplant coordinator examinations test knowledge concerning all solid organ transplants.
Certification is valid for a period of 3 years. Continued certification is obtained by documentation of continuing education activities or by re-passing the certification examination.

Certified Procurement Coordinators (CPTC)
Qualifications to the take the test
In order to be considered eligible for the certification examination for procurement transplant coordinators, a candidate must have completed 12 months of vascular organ procurement coordinator work experience by the date the candidate mails in their examination application.
Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinators (CCTC)
Qualifications to the take the test
In order to be considered eligible for the certification examination for clinical transplant coordinators, a candidate must have completed 12 months of clinical vascular organ work experience by the date the candidate mails in their examination application.
Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN)
Qualifications to take the test
In order to be considered eligible for the certification examination for transplant nurses, a candidate must have completed 24 months as a registered nurse, of which 12 months' work experience must be directly involved in the care of the solid organ transplant patient.

Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP)
One full year work experience in organ preservation-this includes a full consecutive twelve months of organ preservation (does not have to be full time work responsibilities)
