Why Certify?
ABTC has been offering certification examinations since 1988 as a method of promoting the highest standard for transplant professionals.
Use of the certification credentials attests to the transplant community and the public that the individual has met a standard of competency and possesses the necessary knowledge and skills needed to provide quality care for transplant donors and recipients. Passing the examinations allow the individual to attach the credential designation, CPTC (Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator) or CCTC ( Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator) to ones' name. ABTC offers an examination and credential - Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN) for transplant nurses. Fall of 2009, the certification examination for Transplant Preservationists (CTP) will be available. See the Examinations page of this site for more details on this new examination.
