Since 1988, American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) has promoted excellence in organ transplantation through specialty certification. As the only accredited certifying body for organ donation and transplant professionals, ABTC establishes education and competency standards while promoting continued professional growth.
At ABTC, we share your goals for continuous quality improvement in organ donation and transplantation. Our certification credentials represent an elite community of professionals who incorporate the latest standards of excellence in organ donation and transplantation. Our certification programs include:
- Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC)
- Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN)
- Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC)
- Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP)
All ABTC certification programs are fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), which underscores our strict adherence to very high standards of practice for certification. As the accrediting arm of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), NCCA highlights essential elements of a high quality certification program and promotes best practices that help ensure public health, welfare and safety.
ABTC is an independently incorporated, not for profit organization managed by a volunteer governing board – a group of fully certified organ donation and transplantation professionals who strongly believe all patients deserve safe, high quality care. With experts at the helm and a mission driven by the importance of lifelong learning, ABTC certification is a mark of true excellence in organ donation and transplantation.
The American Board for Transplant Certification establishes standards of competence through certification and recertification of transplant professionals to advance the profession and protect the public.
