New Content Outline for the CPTC Examination Effective July 1, 20164/5/2016
​ABTC’s CPTC Examination Committee conducted a job analysis study in 2014. As a result of the study, the CPTC Examination Committee will roll out an examination with a new content outline July 1, 2016. ABTC conducted this job analysis to identify critical content for the certification examination and form a new set of specifications for the examination. You may find the new detailed content outline by clicking here. Committee members from regions across the country and various practice setting were represented on the job analysis committee. 

Along with the new examination content, a new self-assessment examination for the CPTC has been developed and is now available for purchase. Access the ABTC SAEs. ​
Become an ABTC Approved Provider of Continuing Education! 8/1/2015
The American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) is offering a once in a lifetime chance!  If your transplant program succeeds in certifying at least 5 transplant coordinators, nurses or preservationists in a calendar year – your program will receive one year’s worth of free approved provider status for 12 months.

30th Anniversary: World's 1st single lung transplant11/8/2013

On November 7, 1983, Toronto General Hospital surgeons made medical history when they performed a single lung transplant on Toronto's Tom Hall.

Forty-four previous attempts at the surgery had been un successful - Hall was the first single lung transplant survivor.
